COURSE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last Updated: 12 June 2026
These Course Terms and Conditions ("Course Terms") apply to all educational courses, learning programmes, and digital learning materials ("Courses") offered on the platform operated by DEATH DOULA LTD, a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales (Company Number 17171845), with its registered office at 54 Mead Way, High Wycombe, England, HP11 1RH ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). They supplement our Terms of Service and Refund Policy; in case of conflict regarding Courses, these Course Terms prevail.
By purchasing, enrolling in, or accessing a Course, you agree to these Course Terms.
1. NATURE OF THE COURSES
1.1. Our Courses provide education and training in the field of non-medical end-of-life support, grief literacy, and related topics.
1.2. Educational purpose only: Courses do not constitute medical, nursing, psychological, psychotherapeutic, legal, or financial training or advice, and completing a Course does not qualify you to provide medical or therapeutic services. Course content does not replace professional consultation for any personal situation.
1.3. Some Course content addresses emotionally difficult topics including death, dying, grief, and loss. Please assess your own readiness before enrolling, and seek professional support if you are in acute distress.
2. ENROLMENT AND ACCESS
2.1. Courses may be free, paid, or subject to an application/approval process, as indicated on the Course page.
2.2. Access to paid Courses is granted to your personal account after payment is confirmed. For application-based Courses, access is granted after your application is approved.
2.3. Unless a different access period is stated on the Course page, access to purchased Course content is provided for 12 months from the date of purchase. The access period stated on the Course page at the time of purchase governs.
2.4. Access is personal to you. Account or content sharing, group viewing for non-enrolled persons, and resale of access are prohibited and may lead to suspension without refund (subject to your statutory rights).
3. COURSE CONTENT, UPDATES, AND CHANGES
3.1. We may update, improve, or restructure Course content (including modules, lessons, and quizzes) to keep it current. Material reductions in the substance of a Course you purchased will entitle you to a proportionate remedy under our Refund Policy.
3.2. Stated Course details (duration, number of modules, instructors) are accurate at the time of publication but may evolve. The Course description at the time of your purchase governs what you are entitled to receive.
4. ASSESSMENTS, CERTIFICATES, AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
4.1. Some Courses include quizzes or assessments. Where passing an assessment is required to progress or to receive a certificate, this is indicated within the Course.
4.2. Certificates of completion confirm that you completed the relevant educational programme. They are not state-accredited diplomas, do not confer any licence to practise medicine or therapy, and are not academic degrees.
4.3. Professional certification of practitioners is administered by an affiliated non-profit organisation, which is a separate legal entity. For clarity:
- the Company sells access to training content and the technical platform only;
- admission to professional certification tracks, certification decisions, and registry entries are made by the affiliated organisation under its own charter, ethical code, educational standard, and certification policy;
- a certificate cannot be purchased — payment for a Course does not guarantee professional certification;
- additional requirements (such as supervision, declarations, or registry rules) may apply under the affiliated organisation's documents and are communicated by that organisation.
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND PERMITTED USE
5.1. All Course materials (videos, texts, presentations, workbooks, quizzes, and design) are the intellectual property of the Company or its licensors.
5.2. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the materials for your own learning. You must not record, download (except where a download function is provided), copy, translate, publish, distribute, or create derivative works from Course materials, in whole or in part, without our prior written consent.
5.3. You may apply general knowledge gained from the Course in your personal learning or lawful professional activities, provided you do not represent yourself as holding a qualification or certification that you have not been granted. This clause restricts only the reproduction and distribution of the materials themselves.
6. STUDENT CONDUCT
6.1. Where Courses include interactive elements (comments, group sessions, or community spaces), you agree to engage respectfully, protect the confidentiality of personal stories shared by other participants, and refrain from harassment, discrimination, recording of sessions, or solicitation of other participants.
6.2. Serious or repeated misconduct may lead to removal from the Course; in such cases any refund is assessed in line with the Refund Policy and your statutory rights.
7. PAYMENT, CANCELLATION, AND REFUNDS
7.1. Course prices are stated on the Course page. Payment is processed via our payment providers as described in the Terms of Service.
7.2. Cancellation and refunds for Courses are governed by our Refund Policy, including the 14-day cooling-off right and its digital-content exception. At checkout you will be asked to expressly consent to immediate access to the digital content and to acknowledge that you lose your statutory right to cancel once you start accessing it.
8. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND SUPPORT
8.1. You are responsible for having a device, browser, and internet connection capable of accessing the Platform. We provide reasonable technical support for Platform-side issues via [email protected].
9. LIABILITY
9.1. The limitations of liability in our Terms of Service apply to Courses. In particular, we are not liable for decisions you make in your personal or professional life based on educational content, beyond our statutory obligations regarding the quality of the digital content itself.
10. GOVERNING LAW
10.1. These Course Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
